Beam House Tutorial
This tutorial was made with PSP 8, but can be done in earlier versions. It is quite easy and does not have a lot of layers.

Beam House Selections
This tile

. Just right-click on it and download. Then open it and leave it open on your workspace.

1. Open the beamhousealpha.psp file you downloaded and click on the Chimney layer.
Chimney layer - Click on the layer and get the Chimney selection by going to:
Selections - Load/Save Selection - Load Selection from Alpha Channel
Click on the Chimney selections and then on Load.
You can get all the selections the same way. Then flood-fill the chimney with the Brick 01 pattern (Brick 2 in PSP 7) pattern, set at Scale 25.
2. Chimney Side layer - Flood-fill with the same pattern, but set the Angle to 350.
3. Chimney Top - Flood-fill with #808080.
4. Lightning Rods - Flood-fill with #808080.
5. Facade layer - (we've skipped the Inside layer for now). Flood-fill with #E5D7D1. Deselect (CTRL-D). Then click on the Magic Wand

, and holding down the SHIFT key, click inside each window. (You might want to use the Zoom Tool

to see better.)
6. With the inside of the windows selected, click on the Inside layer and go to:
Selections - Modify - Expand - 2 pixels
Flood-fill with #C0C0C0.
7. Window Strips layer - get the Window Strips selection and flood-fill with #808080.
8. Window Frames - flood-fill with the same gray colour.
9. Beams Side Window - Flood-fill with #463428.
10. Lower Roof - Flood-fill with the tile pattern you downloaded. (Scale 100, Angle 0). Then go to
Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow
V 10, H 0, Opacity 80, Blur 10, Colour black.
11. Lower Roof Line - Flood-fill with #404040.
12. Upper Roof - Flood-fill with the tile pattern and apply the same Drop Shadow as before.
13. Upper Roof Line - Flood-fill with #404040.
14. Rounds layer - Flood-fill with black.
15. Entries - Flood-fill with #5C5857. Then go to
Selections - Modify - Contract 6 pixels
Flood-fill with #808080
Selections - Invert
Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow
V & H 10, Opacity 80, Blur 3, Colour black
16. Dormer 1 - Just open the layer by clicking on the red X.
17. Lower Dormers - Open the layer and copy the dormer (CTRL-C). Then paste (CTRL-E) the copy over one of the openings in the lower roof. Just keep pressing CTRL-E and placing the other dormers.
