Canopy Crib Tutorial
This image was made with PSP 8, but the tutorial will work with earlier versions of PSP.
You'll need:

How to Get The Alpha Selections
Selections - Load/Save Selections - Load Selection from Alpha Channel
Click on the selection you want and then on Load
1. Open the cribalpha.psp file you downloaded. Click on the Head Bars layer to open it, and flood-fill with the Woodgrain 01 pattern (PSP 7 - Stained Wood), Scale 50, Angle 0
o. Then go to:
Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel
, Width 1
Smoothness 15, Depth 9, Ambience minus 10, Shininess 10
Colour White, Angle 315, Intensity 50, Elevation 30
2. Guide Lines - Flood-fill with any bright colour--we'll delete these later.
3. Open the skirt.psp image you downloaded, by clicking on the image. Then copy (CTRL-C). Go back to your crib image, click on the Skirt layer, and paste into place, (CTRL-E), on the end of the guide line. Keep pressing CTRL-E each time you add another pleat, until you have gone all along the guide line. Don't worry about being too exact. Remember, if you really don't like your last placement, you can just press CTRL-Z to undo.
If, after you've made the posts, the skirt sticks out too much, you can come back to this layer and use the Eraser Tool

to get rid of the excess.
4. Now you can close the Guide Lines layer by clicking on the eye (glasses in PSP 7), or right-click on the Guide Lines layer and click Delete.
5. Back Bow - just open the layer by clicking on the Red X.
6. Back Post - Flood-fill with your wood pattern, and go to:
Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel
Use the same settings as before, but change the Ambience to minus 5.
7. Mattress - Flood-fill with white or any colour you like.
8. Back Rail - Flood-fill and apply the Inner Bevel, Pillow preset, changing the Ambience to 33.
9. Bedding Back - Flood-fill with white and then go to:
Effects - Plugins - Eye Candy 3 - Swirl - Halva preset
Whirlpool Spacing 18
Smear Length 3
Spacing 0
Streak Detail 43
Check the Warp ring
10. Bedding Front - Flood-fill with white and use the same Eye Candy settings.
11. Bars - Flood-fill with the wood pattern and then apply the following Inner Bevel
, Width 1
Smoothness 15, Depth 9, Ambience minus 10, Shininess 10
Colour White, Angle 315, Intensity 50, Elevation 30
12. Side Rails - Flood-fill and apply the Inner Bevel, Pillow preset, changing the Ambience to 33.
13. Ends - Flood-fill and apply the Inner Bevel, Soft Edge preset
14. Left Back Post - Flood-fill and go to:
Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel,
, Width 1
Smoothness 15, Depth 9, Ambience minus 5, Shininess 10
Colour White, Angle 315, Intensity 50, Elevation 30.
15. Front Posts - Flood-fill and apply the same Inner Bevel.
16. Back Canopy - Flood-fill with white.
Press SHIFT-B, or go to
Adjust - Brightness and Contrast - Brightness/Contrast
Brightness minus 40, Contrast 0.
Go to Layers - Arrange - Send to Bottom
17. Front Canopy - Click on the layer and Flood-fill with white.
18. Top Canopy - Flood-fill with white.
19. Canopy Ridge - Flood-fill with white.
Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel - Angled preset.
20. Finials - Flood-fill and apply the Inner Bevel, Pillow, changing the Ambience to 30.
21. Bows - Open the Back Bow layer, and copy the bow (CTRL-C). Then go back up to the Bows layer and paste in place (CTRL-E). Press CTRL-E to place the others.
Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow
V & H 1, Opacity 62, Blur 2, Colour #404040.
