Choose two colours you want to use for your gradient. Set one as the Foreground and the other as the Background.

Click on the Foreground colour's box. Another image will pop up. Then click on the gradient tab in this image:

A new image will pop up:

An image with a lot of gradients will show up. Scroll down to find the one that says Foreground-Background, click on it, and you've got the gradient.
