This tutorial was written with PSP 7, but should work with any version that accepts selections. All you will need is the
Harvest Table
1. Open a new image, 420 x 250 pixels. Name this layer
Right Leg, and we'll come back to it later.
2. Crosspiece layer - 01crosspiece.sel. Flood-fill with the woodfill from the download (or any fill or colour you prefer), with an Angle of 90
o. (If you use a different fill, you may have to fiddle a bit to get the right angle.)
3. Crosspiece Top layer - 02crosspiecetop.sel. Flood-fill, changing the Angle to 351
o. Then go to Colors - Adjust - Brightness/Contrast, setting Brightness to
minus 5, Contrast 0.
4. Left Leg layer - 03leftleg.sel. Flood-fill, changing the Angle to 90
o.
5.Left Leg Side layer - 04leftlegside.sel. Flood-fill, with the same Angle, and then darken by going to Colors- Adjust - Brightness/Contrast
minus 5. Then go to Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow, and use the following settings:
V 0, H minus 1, Opacity 20, Blur 3.
6. Leg Top layer - 05legtop.sel. Flood fill with the same angle, and darken by
minus 5 again.
7. Merging the Leg layers. Turn off the Right Leg, Crosspiece, and Crosspiece Top layers by clicking on the glasses in the Layer Pallette. You will be left with only the leg layers open:
Now right-click on one of the leg layers and Merge - Merge Visible. Now you can rename the merged layer Left Leg.
8. Table Side layer - 06tableside.sel. Flood-fill, with an angle of 90
o.
9. Table Front layer - 07tablefront.sel. Flood-fill with the same Angle.
10. Table Top layer - 08tabletop.sel. Flood-fill with the wood pattern, changing the Angle to 351
o. Keep selected, and add the following Drop Shadow:
V 2, H 0, Opacity 15, Blur 5, Color white.
11. Crosspiece End layer - 09crosspieceend.sel. Flood-fill with an angle of 90 and darken by
minus 10.
12. Right Leg layer. Go down to the Left Leg layer, and Copy (CTRL-C). Then go down to the Right Leg layer we made at the beginning, get 10rightleg.sel, and paste the left leg you copied into the selection by pressing SHIFT-CTRL-L.
You're all done. Congratulations! Now, on to the bench.
Bench
1. Open a new image, 265 x 175 pixels. Name this layer
Right Bench Leg, and we'll come back to it later.
2. Crosspiece layer - 11benchcrosspiece.sel. Flood-fill with an angle of 90.
3. Crosspiece Top layer - 12benchcrosspiecetop. Flood-fill with an Angle of 351, and darken by
minus 5.
4. Left Leg layer - 13benchleftleg.sel. Flood-fill, using an angle of 90.
4. Leg Side layer - 14benchlegside.sel. Flood-fill and darken by
minus 5 again.
5. Merging. Turn off the first three layers - Right Bench Leg, Crosspiece, and Crosspiece Top. Right click on one of the leg layers, and Merge - Merge Visible. Rename this merged layer Left Leg.
6. Bench Front layer - 15benchfront.sel. Flood-fill with an angle of 90.
7. Bench Side layer - 16benchside.sel. Flood-fill with a 90
o angle.
8. Bench Top layer - 17benchtop.sel. Flood-fill with a 351
o angle, keep selected and add this Drop Shadow again:
V 2, H 0, Opacity 15, Blur 5, Color white.
9. Crosspiece End layer - 18benchcrossend.sel. Flood-fill with an angle of 90 and darken by
minus 10.
10. Right Leg. Go to the Left Leg layer and copy (CTRL-C) the leg. Then go to the Right Leg layer, get 19benchrightleg.sel and paste (SHIFT-CTRL-L) the leg into the selection.
You're all done. Congratulations! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
NOTE: If you want to put the bench behind the table, you will have to rotate it by 6o - Image - Rotate - Right - 6, and resize about 85%.
