Animated Lighthouse
This tutorial follows the lighthouse
tutorial. The animation was made with Animation Shop 3.
You'll
need your lighthouse image, and if you want to make fog, the Mura Meister
Cloud plugin.
The terms of use are here
Animating the Lighthouse
1. Make a copy of your lighthouse by pressing SHIFT-D.
Open the duplicated image and close the Light layer by clicking on the glasses
on that layer in the Layer Pallette. Save this image as lighthouse2.psp.
2. Merge layers visible in both images by going to
Layers - Merge Layers - Merge Visible3. Now that
the layers are merged, you can resize by going to Image - Resize and picking a
percentage. Then go to Effects - Sharpen. (We didn't resize before, because then
all the layers wouldn't have been sharpened.)
Now, you should have two
images of the same size, one with the shining light, and one without.
Optional Fog For both images:
Go to Effects - Plugin Effects - MuRa's Meister - Cloud
Choose Fog
from the preset menu.
Play with the Effect and Amount values to see how much
fog you want.It really doesn't matter if the fog effect on both
images is similar, because you'd expect fog to be moving around, anyway.
(For a tutorial on installing plugins, go
here.)
4. Go to File - Jasc Software Products - Launch Animation Shop.
5. Now you can use the animation wizard by clicking on the icon
on the upper left hand of the screen:
As the screens pop up, just go with the defaults which
are in this order:
Same size as first image frame
Transparent
Upper left corner of
the frameChange the next one:
Yes repeat the animation indefinitely
Make time for each frame
delayed, 100On the next screen, add the two images,
lighthouse.psp and lighthouse2.psp.
Click on Next and then Finish.
You will see the two images as frames in the workspace. To see the
animation, click on the View Animation icon:
6. Saving. Press CTRL-S, just breeze
through the next screens, using the defaults, and at the end give your animation
a name, like lighthouseanim.gif.
You're done! Congratulations!
