Prairie Barn
This tutorial was written for PSP 7, but will work with any version that accepts selections. The selection files are here.The terms of use are here
If you aren't familiar with using the Colour Pallette for patterns, there is a short explanation here
1. Open a new image, 350 x 400 pixels. Go to Selections - Load from disc and get 01insidebarn.sel. You can use the image innerbarn.psp, or draw anything you want, which will show faintly when we do the next layer. If you use the innerbarn.psp, open the image, press CTRL-A,CTRL-C to copy. Then open your Prairie Barn image and press SHIFT-CTRL-L to paste the image into the selection.
Keep selected and make a new layer (or get the 01insidebarn.sel again).
2. Inside Barn layer. Flood-fill
the selection with black, and then lower the opacity of the layer, in the Layer Pallette, to around 66%.
3. Roof Sides layer - 02roofsides.sel. Flood-fill with black.
4. Under Roof layer - 03underroof.sel. Flood-fill with black.
5. Barn layer - 04barn.sel. Flood-fill with the barn siding given, Angle 90o or any fill you'd prefer.
6. Foundation layer - 05foundation.sel. Flood-fill with the Cave Rock pattern provided by Jasc, or any other pattern you like.
7. Door Frame layer - 06doorframe.sel. Flood-fill with #4B4C39.
8. Upper Frameslayer - 07upperframes.sel. Flood-fill with the same colour.
9. Ramp layer - 08ramp.sel. Open the barnsiding.jpg file on your desk-top, if you haven't done so already. Flood-fill with the barn siding, Angle 0o. Then go to Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow:
10. Roof layer - 09roof.sel. Flood-fill with black.
11. Roof Bit layer - 10roofbit.sel. Flood-fill with gray (#808080) and go to Effects - Texture Effects - Blinds and set to Width 5, Opacity 15, and check Horizontal.
12. Shadow layer - 11shadow.sel. Flood-fill with black and lower the opacity of the layer to about 80%.
Congratulations! You're all done. I hope you like your barn.

11. Roof Bit layer - 10roofbit.sel. Flood-fill with gray (#808080) and go to Effects - Texture Effects - Blinds and set to Width 5, Opacity 15, and check Horizontal.
12. Shadow layer - 11shadow.sel. Flood-fill with black and lower the opacity of the layer to about 80%.
