Victorian Chair Tutorial
This tutorial was written with PSP, but should be do-able with earlier versions. All you will need (besides PSP) is
vicchair.zip
The terms of use are
here
NOTE: Each step which needs a new layer will use the format with the name of the new layer, and then the selection for that layer. So Whatever layer - whatever.sel, means make a new layer Whatever, and then get the whatever.sel file by going to Selections - Load from disk.
If you aren't familiar with using the Colour Pallette for patterns, there is a short explanation here
1. Open a new image, 265 x 346 pixels. Name this layer
Back Legs. Go to Selections - Load from Disk and get 01backlegs.sel. Fill with the wood pattern from the *.zip file, or any wood pattern you prefer. Then go to Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel and use the following settings:
2. Cloth layer. 02cloth.sel. Flood-fill with a colour or pattern you like.
3. Upper Frame layer. 03upperframe.sel. Flood-fill with your wood pattern and apply the same Inner Bevel as before.
4. Cushion Front layer. 04cushionfront.sel. Flood-fill with your cloth pattern or colour and go to Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow and use the following settings:
V 1, H 1, Opacity 40, Blur 3
5. Cushion Top Layer. 05cushiontop.sel. Flood-fill and apply the same Drop Shadow.
6. Right Wood layer. 06rightwood.sel. Flood-fill and apply the same Inner Bevel as before.
7. Left Wood layer. 07leftwood.sel. Flood-fill and apply the Inner Bevel.
8. Lower Frame layer. 08lowerframe.sel. Flood-fill and apply the Inner Bevel again.
9. Upper Cushion layer. 09uppercushion.sel. Go to Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout and use the following settings:
V & H minus 10, Opacity 40, Blur 25.
Depending on the colour of your cloth, you may want to change the Opacity, or lower the opacity in the Layer Pallette by moving the slider on the right side of the Pallette.
Congratulations! You're all finished. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
