Victorian Globe Lamp
You will need the following:
vicglobe.zip file
SBP preset
Flakygoldjub
If you don't have Blade Pro, the images are
here
Image/Tube to decorate the lamp.
The terms of use are
here
NOTE: Each step which needs a new layer will use the format with the name of the new layer, and then the selection for that layer. So Whatever layer - whatever.sel, means make a new layer Whatever, and then get the whatever.sel file by going to Selections - Load from disk.
If you aren't familiar with using the Colour Pallette for patterns or gradients, there is a short explanation here
1. Open a new image, 190 x 375. Name this layer
Stand. Get 01stand.sel and flood-fill with white. Then go to Super Blade Pro and use the Flakygoldjub preset.
If you don't have Blade Pro, open the stand.psp image you downloaded by clicking on it. Copy (CTRL-C) the Stand and then go back to your lamp image and paste into the 01stand selection by pressing (SHIFT-CTRL-L).
2. Lower Band layer - 02lowerband.sel. Flood-fill with white and use the Blade Pro preset again.
3. Middle layer - 03middle.sel. Flood-fill with #864F15.
4. Highlight layer. Make this new layer, and the use the Draw Tool with these settings:
Straight Line
Width 2
Check Antialias
Do not check Create as Vector or Close Path
Draw a straight line down the middle of the Middle section, and don't worry about going outside the section. Then go to Blur - Gaussian Blur 2. Now, get 03middle.sel again, go to Selections - Invert, and hit Delete, and you're rid of any excess line.
5. Bulb Base layer - 04bulbbase.sel. Flood-fill with #808080 and then go to Effects - Noise - Add 12% - Uniform.
6. Upper Band layer - 05upperband.sel. Flood-fill with white and use the Flakygold preset again,
or use the band.psp image and copy..
7. Lower Globe layer - 06lowerglobe.sel. Flood-fill with a colour that complements your decoration image.
8. Decoration layer. Place your tube or decoration on this layer. If it goes a little past the globe, just get 06lowerglobe.sel, Invert, and hit Delete.
9. Cutout layer. Get 06lowerglobe.sel again, and go to Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout and use the following settings:
H & V 1, Opacity 43, Blur 25, Colour black.
10. Chimney layer - 07chimney.sel. Flood-fill with the Metallic gradient that comes with PSP, at an angle of 317
o. Then lower the opacity of the layer to about 62, by moving the slider on the right-hand side of the layer in the Layer Pallette.
Keep selected!
11. Chimney Cutout layer. Make this new layer and then apply the same Cutout by going to Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout, and using the same settings as before.
12. Upper Globe layer - 08upperglobe.sel. Flood-fill with the same colour you used for the Lower Globe.
13. Decoration 2 layer. Place the decoration on this globe the same way you did on the lower globe.
14. Cutout 2 layer. Get 08upperglobe.sel again, and apply the same Cutout as before.
15. Switch layer. Get 09switch.sel, and flood-fill with #908256.
Congratulations, you're all done! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
