Victorian Sofa

This tutorial was written with PSP 7, but should work with earlier versions. All you will need, besides PSP, is the vicsofa.zip file, which contains a wood pattern and the fabric pattern.

The terms of use are here

Each time a layer and selection are given, it means that a new layer
should be made, unless different directions are given, and the
selection found by going to Selections - Load from Disk.
1. Open a new image, 550 x 300 pixels. Name the first layer, Back Legs and get the 01backlegs.sel file by going to Selections - Load from Disk. Flood-fill with the wood pattern from the *.zip file, or any wood pattern you like. (If you aren't familiar with using the Colour Pallette for patterns, there is a short explanation here.) Then go to

Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel and use the following settings:

2. New Layer - Cloth - 02cloth.sel. Flood-fill with a colour or pattern that you like.

3. Upper Frame - 03upperframe.sel. Flood-fill with a wood pattern and add the same Inner Bevel.

4. Left Upper Cushion - 04leftuppercushion.sel. Go to

Effects - 3D Effects - Cutout and use these settings:
V 10, H 10, Opacity 35, Blur 25

(Depending on how light your colour is, you might want to change the Opacity.) Then make a new layer and add the same cutout, changing the V & H to minus 10.

5. Middle Upper Cushion - 05middleuppercushion.sel. Apply the cutout again. Then make another layer and apply the cutout, changing the V & H.

6. Right Upper Cushion - 06rightuppercushion.sel. Apply the cutout, make another layer and apply the cutout again, changing the V & H.

7. Right Pillow Front - 07rightpillowfront.sel. Flood-fill with your colour or pattern and add the following Drop Shadow:

V 1, H 1, Opacity 40, Blur 3

8.Right Pillow Top - 08rightpillowtop.sel. Flood-fill, and add the same Drop Shadow.

9. Middle Pillow Front - 09middlepillowfront. Flood-fill and apply the same Drop Shadow again.

10. Middle Pillow Top - 10middlepillowtop. Flood-fill, and apply the Drop Shadow.

11. Left Pillow Front - 11leftpillowfront. Flood-fill and apply the Drop Shadow.

12. Left Pillow Top - 12leftpillowtop.sel. Flood-fill and apply the Drop Shadow.

13. Right Wood - 13rightwood.sel. Flood-fill with your wood pattern and apply the same Inner Bevel.

14. Left Wood - 14leftwood.sel. Flood-fill and apply the same Inner Bevel.

15. Lower Frame - 15lowerframe.sel. Flood-fill and apply the same Inner Bevel. This is a bit lighter than the top frame, so you can go to

Colors - Adjust - Brightness/Contrast and set Brightness to minus 15, Contrast 0.

You're all done! I hope you liked this tutorial.
