This tutorial was written with PSP 7. All you'll need is
washer.zip.

NOTE: Each step which needs a new layer will use the format with the name of the new layer, and then the selection for that layer. So Whatever layer - whatever.sel, means make a new layer Whatever, and then get the whatever.sel file by going to Selections - Load from disk.
If you aren't familiar with using the Colour Pallette for patterns, there is a short explanation here
1. Open a new image, 382 x 348 pixels. Call this layer Top Crosspiece and get 01topcrosspiece.sel. Flood-fill with the Finished Wood pattern at a 0
o angle (or use any wood pattern you prefer) in the Colour Pallette.
2. Cross Pieces layer - 02crosspieces.sel. Flood-fill.
3. Back Legs layer - 03backlegs.sel. Flood-fill at a 90
o angle.
4. Tub layer - 04tub.sel. Flood-fill with #8C4927 and go to
Effects - Noise - Add - 15% - Uniform.
5. Front Legs layer - 05frontlegs.sel. Flood-fill.
6. Top layer - 06toplayer.sel. Flood-fill with gray (#C0C0C0). Go to
Effects - Texture Effects - Texture - Woodgrain preset
(You can find the Woodgrain by clicking on the picture in the menu.)
7. Paddle layer - 07paddle.sel. Flood-fill.
8. Slot layer - 08slot.sel. Flood-fill with white, go to
Selections - Modify - Contract 3 pixels
Flood-fill with black
Using the Magic Wand

click on the white border you just made, and then go to
Effects - Texture Effect - Sculpture - Copper preset.
9. Upper Crosspiece layer - 09uppercrosspiece.sel. Flood-fill at a 0
o Angle.
10. Upper Crosspiece 1 layer - 10uppercrosspiece1.sel. Flood-fill.
11. Handles layer - 11handles.sel. Flood-fill with the same gray, and then go to
Effects - 3D Effects - Inner Bevel - Angled preset
12. Breaks layer - 12breaks.sel. Flood-fill with medium gray (#808080).
13. Knob layer - 13knob.sel. Flood-fill with white and go to
Effects - Texture Effects - Sculpture - Copper Preset.
